To comply with
Australian Standards, all play units in a public area or
where Public Liability is an issue, require safety
surfacing beneath the unit extending around the perimeter
of the play unit. The thickness of the safety
surfacing and the distance to which is extends, will depend
on the height of play items or the "fall height rating" as
it is referred to.
Parkequip
recommends the use of Rubber Wet Pour or Synthetic
Grass. A system of "Approved Playground Mulch" is an
economical alternative, but requires regular raking and
topping up.
